Fried Prawn and Bean Sprout Salad

Can serve as either snack or side-dish. Crunchy batter bean sprout make it perfect. You can find this delicious food in street stalls in many cities.


Ingredients

Bean sprouts -
Prawn -
Tempura powder -
Water -
Oil -
Cucumber -
Cabbage -
Coriander -
Garlic -
Fish sauce -
Tamarind paste -
Peanut powder -
Chilli powder -
Sugar -
The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Rinse bean sprouts and sieve them.
  2. Rinse and clean prawns. Chop their heads and tails off.
  3. Make a relatively diluted batter of tempura powder with water.
  4. Boil oil using strong heat. Mix one prawn with bean sprouts and batter. Use a small plate to shape the ingredients into a whole and deep-fry it in boiling oil.
  5. Repeat the same process for more pieces of prawn and bean sprouts.
  6. Flip upside down when they turn brown and do it often while frying. When they become crispy and golden, take them out from pan and sieve oil.
  7. Rinse and chop cucumber, cabbage and coriander into small pieces.
  8. Mix fried pieces of prawn and bean sprout thoroughly with cucumber, cabbage, coriander, fish sauce, tamarind paste, peanut powder and chilli powder.
