CatFish with Morinda Curry

“Ye Yoe”, Morinda leave, is a medicinal leave and Myanmar people used this leave in cooking. Mostly cooked with fishes and I used catfish this time. You can easily notice different delicious curry of catfish with morinda leave by smell.


Cat Fish - 250 g
Noni - 4 leave
Onion - 2
Garlic - 5 cloves
Chilli powder - a little
Tumeric - a little
Chickien powder - a little
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Tamarind paste - a little
Green chilli

Oil - 1/2 teacup
The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Rinse fish and cut it into halves. Pick and separate the bone. Chop fish fillet into small chunks.
  2. Rinse noni and cut it into slightly big pieces.
  3. Pound onion with chilli powder and panfry that paste with turmeric powder .
  4. When paste is fairly cooked, add fish with salt and chicken powder.
  5. When it starts turning into white colour and cooked, add tamarind paste.
  6. When the paste starts to be thicken, add noni and keep heating until those leaves are tender.
  7. Lastly , cut green chilli in half for garnishing .
