Mon Fish Curry

This dish is one of a Mon traditional fish curry. You will not get the smell the fish and invite you with appetizing smell. Have strong taste of sour and hot in great balance may change your favorite dish.


Fish - 400 g
Onion - 1
Lemon grass - 1
Green chilli - 7
Oil - 2 table spoon
Tumeric - a little
Salt - a lilttle
Preserved fish paste - a little
Dried marian fruit - some
Long coriander - some
The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Rinse the fish and cut them into small fillets.
  2. Marinate the fillets with crushed lemon grass, salt, the preserved fish paste and turmeric powder.
  3. Crush onions with green chilli finely.
  4. Prepare for the pan-fry. Add those crushed onions and chilli and fry when oil starts to boil.
  5. When onions start tendering, add marinated fillets and stir thoroughly.
  6. When the juice is drying up and the meat is chewy, add water until its level is just above the fillets. Add dried marian fruit and close the lid until the water inside is boiling
  7. Sprinkle chicken powder lastly and top it with coriander leaves right before you consume.
Coriander leaves could make it aromatic although it is optional to be added.
