Food in Myanmar


Tapioca, “Tharku”, can usually seem in food donation ceremony. Because it is very easy to make, families also make it for desert or snack in homes. Sweet taste combine with coconut flavor make this dish perfect.


Sago - 400 g
Plam jaggery - 1000 g
Sweet Potato - 400 g
Coconut - 1
Salt - a few
The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into chunks as shown in the picture above.
  2. Grate coconut.
  3. Boil sweet potatoes with palm jaggery in 7 litres of water.
  4. When sweet potatoes aresoftening, add sagos.
  5. Stir it continuously.
  6. When sagos become clear, it is ready and lastly garnishes it with coconut flakes on top.
