Wintermelon Salad

This is a very special salad. Although Myanmar people usually cook water melon as a soup with pork or chicken, but I going to make a salad with grilled prawn, lime juice, green chilli and grinded pea nut. Strong taste of hot chilli and fresh lime juice is mix together with medicinal water melon.


Water melon - 1/6
Prawn - 160 g
Onion - 2
Garlic - 2 clove
Green chilli - 7
Lime - 1
Grinded pea nut - 1 teacup
Basil - a few
Salt - a little
Suger - a little
The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Remove middle seeds sector of winter melon and gripped to get vertical small strips.
  2. Remove skin from prawn, roasted for a while. Then half of prawn you chipped and half keep as it is. Lime juice, salt and liquid sugar is mix together with pounded green chili and garlic.
  3. If all ready; let’s make the pickle. To prepare pickle, take mix-easy bowl big enough in you choose; put winter melon strips, chipped prawn, mixture from step 2, grinded peanut in the bowl. Add basil, lemon juice and mix thoroughly. Taste it for sour and salt. When you get the flavor you like, it is ready to serve in plate address top with rest of roasted prawn.
