New Site Transfer of The Worst Suffered Village from Earthquake

Among badly hit of measuring 7 on the strength Richter scale Earthquake-suffered regions, Kya-Kuni village would be moved and resettled to a new area allocation.

Kya-kuni transfer to a new spot establishment was in accord with the villagers’ demand , was mentioned in 14th April National news.

Kya-kyni village was one of the worst earthquake-hit areas on 24th March after 8 pm.
In one hilly village, Kya-kuni, 22 persons died in a single Church and 30 persons round died in the whole village, said the residents local.

The badly earthquake spot was full of cracks. To establish a new village, living plots, schools, play ground, church, public place, etc. systematically allocation of Township Development Department works, were observed and managed by Vice Minister U Phone Swe, Chairman of Social Welfare Rescue and Resettlement Committee, and the Government responsible persons on 6th to  9th April, reported 14th April Mirror News.

The Project was being started. Though 73 persons died and 25 persons injured was resulted from the 24th March 8:30 pm Earthquake, reported in local media news, latest list of casualties, was not publicized yet.

According to the responsible persons from NGO Rescue Organizations and local residents, the accurate persons amount of death and the wounded, were much more than its description. Kya-kuni, Maing Lin Village Tract and Tar Lay Sub-township suffered more than other regions.
