“There is an arrangement for River Trend Conservation Project to cooperatively work joint with Races Private Businesspersons,” said U Nyan Htun Aung, Union Minister of Ministry of Transport.
“As its joint work with Private Sector, the better performance it would be than before.”
“It is needed for better River Trend Conservation to support from the Government in order to get much more interested of Private Businesspersons involved,” said the Department of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems.
To get sufficient depth of water, and waterway management along the rivers, the Ayarwady and the Chindwin, the cost may be over 66,000 million Kyat which goes to the Ayarwady over 47, 900 million Kyat , and the Chindwin over 18,400 million Kyat.
“To cover the expenditure at the least capital not to be a burden, technology will be got from Korea and China and if it were needed the arrangement of cooperative and coordinative work joint with Races Private Businesspersons,” explained the Union Minister.
“Joint work with Races Private Businesspersons will be carried out better performance but it needs the Government support in order to have them much more interested in the work,” said the responsible person from the Department of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems.
If it works out joint conservation, it could get more collected Voyage Pass Charge.
In present, there is no Voyage Pass charged in waterways except Tonttay Canal.
