Aung San Su Kyi won Raoul Wallenberg Award 2011 by Michigan University, USA on 25th October 2011.
The Award was provided previously to African Father Desman Too Too, Peace Novelist Elle Pixel and Father Dalai Lamar.
South-East Asia for the first time Daw Aung San Su Kyi won the Award.
Swedish Raoul Wallenberg became a Graduate at Michigan University in 1934. While he worked as a Sweden Ambassador in World War II, he accepted the request from US to help Jews and helped out Jews population in Lakhs. In the Honor of this effort, Raoul Wallenberg Award was provided.
At 7 pm night US Standard Time in Rackham Hall, Michigan University, the Award Provision Ceremony was held with the Presentation of Daw Aung San Su Kyi’s voice.
