On 9th November in Shwedagon, Shwedagon Pagoda History Display “Post in Still” together with “Kahtain Robe Weaving Contest Ceremony” which Yellow Robe for Buddha, woven and finished process done in only one night would be held, said the Pagoda Trustee Board.
Among the Kahtain Robe Weaving Contest Applicant Teams, only 9 Teams were allowed to participate in the Contest.
“The Contest will start at 5 -10 pm at night on the day before Tazaungdaing Full Moon Day. The prize would be decided by Marks Appraisal Referees with Prize Provision Ceremony in prompt at about half past twelve, i.e., past midnight.”
“In order to donate Buddha the Kahtain Robe in line with Buddha Disciplines, it may be stitched again; at early 4 am in the morning on Tazaungdaing Full Moon Day, we will donate Buddha the Kahtain Robe,” explained a responsible person from the Shwedagon Trustee Board.
At the Contest, Sunday Evening Cleaning Team at Padaut Flower Loom, Benevolence Rice Donating Team at Myatlay Flower Loom, A-shin Izza Gonna Team at Khattar Flower Loom, Dhamma Gon Yaung Religious Team at Kantkaw Flower Loom, Wednesday Evening Team at Sabai Flower Loom, Bawdi Mandaing Rice Donating Team at Tha-nakhar Flower Loom, Buddha Thar-thana Hita Team at Tharaphy Flower Loom, Yaykyitaw Religious Team at Sein Chai Flower Loom and Ingar Thamardi Team at Ingyinn Flower Loom, would compete on the day.
The Kahtain Robe Weaving Contest has already celebrated since 1984 with each Team of Competent 6 members as limited.
First Prize would be 3 Lakh Kyat, Second 2.5, Third 2 together with Consolation Prize 1.5 Lakh Kyat.
