Authorities are disinfected Thein Phyu indoor stadium to quarantine COVID-19 suspects on March 22, sources said.
The suspects will be kept in quarantine for a limited number of days, in line with the requirement by the healthy ministry, said MP Yan Aung of Mingalar Taungnyunt Constituency.
Sports stadiums in Hlegu, Dagon Seikkan, South Dagon and North Dagon townships will be reserved to keep the COVID-19 suspects.
Moreover, it is just preparation in advance and the requirement will be fulfilled using the budget from the Ministry of Health and Sports, said Khin Hlaing, Chair of Mingalar Taungnyunt Township Development Committee.
“The in-charges from the sports department informed us to disinfect the surrounding areas of the stadium to put the suspects in quarantine. However, no definite instruction is given. We are providing help to clean the environment in our township,” he said.
At present, the indoor stadium is prepared for about 150 COVID-19 suspects and MPs, officials from the ministry and government departments are cooperating to make preparation.
