Cassod Tree Leaves (Mezali) Soup 

Cassod Tree Leaves (Mezali) Soup is special Myanmar traditional food. Myanmar people only make this soup around November and December Month. Some believe this dish have medicinal property when eat in this month especially in full moon day.

Cassod tree leaves - about your fist
Indian nightshade - 1 cup
Onion - 2
Garlic - 5 cloves
Oil - a little
Salt - a little
Sun dried Shimp - 1 tea cup
Chicken Powder - a little
Tumeric - a little
Salt - a little
Sun dried Shimp - 1 tea cup

The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. To get rid of the bitter residue from leaves, boil cassod tree leaves in a lot of water for long time. When the leaves are soften, take them out and rinse them twice using cold water. Then squeeze all the liquid out of the leaves to prevent the bitterness.
  2. Rinse Indian nightshades and crack them.
  3. Slice garlics and onions for panfrying. Panfry them with turmeric powder and add Indian nightshades when onions and garlics are fairly cooked. Stir it and add sun dried shrimp powder.
  4. When Indian nightshades become soft, add Cassod tree leaves and water for soup to the amount you like. Add salt and chicken powder.
  5. Cook it until the soup is boiling.
