Chicken with Winter Melon Curry 

Insert of gourd fruit used in tradition, I am now using winter melon for chicken curry this time. Chicken with Winter Melon Curry is server as a main dish in Myanmar meals and sprinkle on cooked rice to get it sweet taste.

Chicken - 1/2 of chicken
Marrow - 1/4
Onion - 2
Garlic - 4 cloves
Chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
Tumeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Chicken powder - 1 teaspoon
Fish sauce - 1/2 teacup
Curry powder - 2 teaspoon

The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Rinse chicken and chop it into the chunks.
  2. Cut marrow into relatively large pieces.
  3. Heat the oil to panfry the paste. Pound onions with chilli powder to make paste and panfry the paste. After the onions become tender, add chicken powder, salt, fish sauce and curry powder.
  4. When an aroma rises from frying, add chicken. Cook until the chicken is mixed well with oil becoming oily and tender.
  5. Add water to the level just above the chicken so that chicken is well cooked and soften.
  6. After water starts to boil and evaporate leaving only less amount, check chicken whether or not it is cooked. If it is cooked, add marrow and stir everything thoroughly. If you like the curry to be watery, you may add more water and boil it for longer time with closed lid.
  7. After both chicken and marrow are cooked, you may add more either salt or chicken powder to adjust the taste. Then, it will be ready for serving.
