Sticky Rice Pashuu 

This snack is one of a Myanmar traditional snack and also serve together with green tea. In Myanmar food donation ceremonies sticky rice pashuu is proudly serve as a dessert.

Sticky Rice - 3 cup
Coconut - 1
Palm jaggery - 350 g
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Water - 1 1/2 li
Oil - 80 g

The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Rinse and soak sticky rice overnight.
  2. Sieve rice from water and steam it until it is cooked. Break grains apart and let them cool.
  3. Use shredded coconut. blend and squeeze it for coconut milk
  4. Boil palm jaggery and sieve it
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and boil coconut milk together with liquidfied palm jaggery.
  6. When the mixture is thicken and its texture changes colour, add sticky rice and stir.
  7. Stir until the rice are sticking together and absorbing most of the mixture.
  8. When the grains are sticky enough and becoming dough, apply 80 g of oil to inner part of baking container thoroughly and add dough. Flatten and even the surface of dough. Close the container with lid and heat its bottom and top. Make sure heat applied at bottom is weaker than heat at top. Check the texture and it is ready when it turns brownish colour.
  9. Hot black tea is a good complement to this dish.
